In our view, enthusiasm for technology is a core prerequisite for being able to create intellectual property solutions in the field of patents. The key to this often lies in building up and continuously developing a deep technical understanding of the subject matter. We face this challenge every day, even though it can sometimes be quite demanding and at times somewhat laborious to keep pace with progress in dynamic fields of technology.
Where we are technically “at home”
OUR CURRENT RANGE OF TECHNOLOGIES
From electrical engineering/electronics (EE) and semiconductor technology to information and communication technology (ICT), new digital technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, AI), security technologies, automation technology, medical technology, special mechanical engineering and almost every type of physical system. We are involved in a wide range of different technologies on a daily basis, usually for many years.
At the interface between electrical engineering, physics, physical chemistry, and control engineering, we are particularly active in the fields of battery technology and fuel cell technology..
Our technical spectrum ranges here from the smallest structures and manufacturing processes in semiconductor technology, to circuit technology, housing technology, complex multi-layer firmware and software stacks of many integrated circuits and systems, through to micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS).
From computer and processor hardware and firmware, middleware, operating systems and various application software, to wired and wireless communication technologies for mobile communications, WAN, MAN and LAN as well as Internet-of-Things (IOT)-related technologies, through to optical network technology and special communication technologies and their use in the automotive environment (e.g., car-to-car or car-to-infrastructure technologies) and navigation technology.
New digital technologies are rapidly gaining importance in many industries, in science and now increasingly in our daily lives. Just think of the growing influence of various forms of artificial intelligence (AI) that are penetrating our lives, be it on smartphones, in computer applications or in vehicles. In the industrial environment, the importance of artificial intelligence is growing, for example in the optimization, configuration, and monitoring of industrial processes.
Whether it is a question of classic securing of information transmission, data integrity, secure authentication of individuals, for example with regard to access restrictions to secure areas, the security of payment methods or protection against forgery of security documents, pharmaceuticals or security-relevant components, for example in aviation and vehicle technology, modern technology is often almost inconceivable without effective security technologies.
In particular, the aim here is to fully or partially automate processes, machines and entire systems, such as manufacturing plants, logistics systems or robot systems, or to further develop existing automation systems. While purely deterministic control systems or fuzzy controllers have been used for automation in most cases to date, automation supported by artificial intelligence (AI) is now increasingly being added, in some cases replacing traditional solutions.
This very broad technical field includes, in particular, a wide variety of equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of patients, for example in the field of imaging, implant technology and prosthetics or medical instruments. Laboratory equipment and hospital systems also play a central role here.
The field of mechanical engineering is very broad and ranges from classic purely mechanical solutions to highly complex computer-controlled systems. Special mechanical engineering regularly refers to an area of mechanical engineering that deals with the development, design and manufacture of customized machines and systems for specific industrial applications. In contrast to series machine construction, in which standardized machines are produced in large quantities, special machines are individually adapted to the requirements of a specific production process or customer.
As can be assumed, this is a very broad field that can hardly be narrowed down, but its many different aspects have in common that physical processes and the laws of physics play a prominent role in them.
